Welcome and thank you for stopping by my blog!

My name is Monique (or Moki if you prefer). I am a creative art photographer serving Albuquerque, New Mexico and surrounding areas. My photography is not going to look like other photographers work. That is because I offer a finely tuned, uniquely designed, client inspired portrait experience. I believe portraits should be more than just a picture of your face, they should be a story about who you are.

Browse my blog, leave a comment or two, and let me know if one of a kind portraits are the right fit for you.

Rachel and Chris

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Family and friends slowly gathered near the shady entrance of the LDS Albuquerque temple. They eagerly looked toward the sliding doors each time they slid open. Familiar faces came through, but not the bride and groom they were waiting for. But nobody seemed impatient. They chatted with old friends, caught up with family, enjoyed the beauty of the day. And it was a BEAUTIFUL day! The sky was clear. The breeze was a little cool. The morning sun wasnt quite ready to roast us yet.

And then Rachel and Chris came through those doors. Cameras started flashing. The bride and groom smiled and held each other gently. Brothers and sisters congratulated the couple. Parents looked on lovingly.

When I caught sight of Rachel’s ring I gasped! I gushed shamelessly at it’s uniqueness! Her sweet Chris had it custom made, one of a kind, darn!

Girls, dont be jealous (like I am!) Chris has a pilot’s license and is whisking Rachel off to a surprise location for their honeymoon! Have a great time you two!

Ben and Natalie

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

There is something to be said about young love. Some of those around us are either waiting for the right time or the right person to commit to. Perhaps it’s plans that need to be finished or milestones that must be met. Maybe it’s an age we hope to reach and life’s lessons still to learn. However, there are some who are blessed to find love young. Ben and Natalie are happily blessed. I asked Natalie if she minded comments about her being so young. She said, “Not really. I’ve been 40 since I was 4.”

Here’s a secret about me. I’ve been doing photography professionally for 4 years and yet every single time I go to a session I am nervous. There is so much to take into consideration; do I have all my equipment and paper work, how will the lighting be, what about the location, and mostly what will the client be like? And every single time my worries are put to rest by sweet, fun people like this couple! Natalie in her GREAT heels! Ben with his stylin’ hat, and the awesome way he could take her breath away and she could make him smile!

From one young bride to another, N, you guys are so awesome and your wonderful personalities will be a great blessing in your marriage!

The Corrales Wedding

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

There is no place in New Mexico that I love as much as the village of Corrales. If you read my blog, I’m sure you’ve figured this out. Even with rain clouds threatening us, it was a beautiful day for a wedding.

The bride had taken wonderful consideration in many of the details for the day. She and her groom along with their 3 children would officially be a family by the end of the day and I think it must have been very important to all of the family to really celebrate this day.

I was really impressed with what she had prepared for her little girl. She had a tiny strand of pearls with a heart pendant for her to wear. Her flower girl dress had a matching smaller version for her baby doll. Such thought!

Their son started out the wedding pretty tuckered out, but these bubbles helped him cheer up. See the baby doll dress?

Just Lovely!
