Profile Picture

Welcome and thank you for stopping by my blog!

My name is Monique (or Moki if you prefer). I am a creative art photographer serving Albuquerque, New Mexico and surrounding areas. My photography is not going to look like other photographers work. That is because I offer a finely tuned, uniquely designed, client inspired portrait experience. I believe portraits should be more than just a picture of your face, they should be a story about who you are.

Browse my blog, leave a comment or two, and let me know if one of a kind portraits are the right fit for you.

Photograph Your Life~2

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

I try to explain to people the hilarious thing that is Miss B. She makes the greatest faces and has the most outrageous laugh… seriously, just ask around… it’s true. I never want to forget the faces she makes. When this idea crossed my mind, I knew I had to share it and thought it would be a great idea for amateur photographers, scrapbooks, and those that want to learn how to take better photographs.

Photograph your life assignment: Sit down and take pictures of each of your kiddos (or a loved one) as they make a face to match each emotion you call out. Here is a list of emotions for you to try: sad, angry, happy, shy, embarrassed, surprised, scared, confused, snotty, grumpy, tired, bored, lonely, silly face, laughing.

Arrange them all on one page as I have here, or print out 4×6′s to slip into their own special album… The Many Faces of You

Photograph Your Life in 2011

1/6/11 miss e

A common thing among bloggers, scrapbookers, and photographers is to take daily pictures of your life (365 pictures!) It’s never been the thing for me (I have so many other projects going on… can never remember to take the daily photo) But I do want to make sure I take more photos of my every day life with my family and eventually get some printed up (insert embarrassed emoticon here).

Now that I’ve admitted that I fail miserably at taking my own family’s plain ol’ pictures… I have something to give away! I want to do a very special project with (possibly) your family. One Saturday a month this year, I want to hang with your (Albuquerque area) family for a few hours and photograph your daily life… maybe it will be in your home… maybe it will be at a sports event… maybe you’ll just be getting a burger somewhere… I want to be there, I want to blog it and I KNOW you want FREE digital files… right?

So if you’re interested, tell me a little about your family, what you like to do together, do you have a blog? and contact me here: click here ha ha I am only selecting a few families btw ;)

Resolutions I should have made 20 years ago

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

…and just had the same ones every year.

1. Don’t let the actions and judgements of others affect who you are, inside or out.
2. Flossing isn’t just good advice… do it every day.
3. Don’t stop learning. Life is a journey on this world and the more knowledge you can get from it, the better your chances of survival.
4. If you want something, go get it.. 20 years from now most people wont remember if you made a fool of yourself. Some of those that do remember will be the types that know we all have foolish moments of failure. The other type will remind you of your failure, feel sorry for them… they obviously have nothing more important in their lives than to remember the failures of others.
5. It’s not always about you… learn to see past yourself.
