It was hot, it was beautiful, it was all sorts of crazy fun with my kiddos and my nieces and nephew! (9 kids, my mom and my sister!) We rode New Mexico’s Rail Runner train north to Santa Fe to spend the day. We lived impulsively and made it up as we went along. EVERY New Mexican resident should spend a day or two in Santa Fe… it’s a very unique experience! My 3 favorite things today:
1. Lunch at Upper Crust Pizza
2. Extra long farmhouse tables at Flying Star! (We need these at ours!)
3. The Wheelwright Museum’s Thunderbird Jewelry of Santo Domingo Pueblo

Summer time monsoons are finally coming in. It will be a sad day when the evenings stop pouring on us… no more walking through rushing street gutters and splashing in puddles with the neighbor kids. We love us some rain!

Rainy day must haves:

1. An excellent cornbread recipe for rainy day soup
2. some of our favorite Will Ferrell movies for when you’re dried off and ready to get cozy (ok, so 3 of my favorites, just one for the kids )
3. This really great sewing kit would keep my kids happy for at least an hour! long enough for me to wash and dry all the rain soaked clothes ♥

Once upon a time, before photography and a couple more kids took up all my time, I had a craft blog. I participated in gallery shows that became books, I hosted swaps with other artists, I stitched and carved and painted and printed and made, made, made into the night. I want to do it again sometime. I’m craving some beach time too. What abut you? DO these ideas make you want to get creative or just go on vacation?
